About Me
Hello, my username on several platforms is TiredFox07. My hobbies span gaming, programming, watching YouTube and anime, listening to music, and exploring interesting topics. The game I currently play the most is Valorant, due to it's combination of strategic game-play and its high skill ceiling. I am a hobbyist programmer, primarily using Go and TypeScript for projects. When I don't find anything interesting on YouTube, I turn to anime for entertainment. My favorite band is System of a Down, with my favorite singer being their lead singer: Serj Tankian. To fill any remaining time I have, I typically research things that I am interested in.
Gaming
One thing I spend several hours doing is gaming. Valorant is the game I most frequently play, and I am currently Platinum 1. As a controller main, I primarily play Omen, Viper, and Clove. Valorant isn't the only game I play though. I also play a lot of Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Mindustry, and Roblox, having several hours in all of those games. I love being creative while gaming. In games like Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Roblox, it's obvious how you can be creative. On the other hand, games like Valorant and Mindustry, while at first glance not leaving any room to be creative, can be quite creative. In Valorant, the different strategies that one can create combined with the different executions makes for a very exciting game-play experience. And in Mindustry, you can control exactly how your base is built and how you defend your base. Gaming, in my opinion, is more about being able to express yourself and your abilities. Having fun is just a by-product.
Programming
While I do love programming, it can be tough sometimes. While it has the ability to be really fun and rewarding, it can also be a struggle at times. My current favorite programming language is Go. The syntax of Go is very clear and concise. It is easy to tell what is happening and why. It also has amazing language features, like built in multi-threading. I also spend a lot of time with TypeScript. Mostly being a superset of JavaScript, I use it to program the front-end of websites I create. Because of JavaScript's inconsistencies, TypeScript makes using JavaScript slightly better by adding strict typing and catching type errors at compile time. I am entirely a self-taught programmer, and have exclusively used the Internet to learn how to program. I am also currently developing a communication website that goes by the name Disrod. Disrod was originally created to be able to communicate during school. The history behind Disrod is long and complex, so I won't talk about it here. I also work with Godot Engine to make games occasionally. I have used Godot Engine since the 3.3 release, and have loved it ever since. It's unique approach to structuring games through the use of nodes and scenes allows for a combination of object oriented patterns and composition.
YouTube and Anime
Watching YouTube and anime take up very large portions of my time. While on YouTube, I typically watch content related to programming, gaming, music, and math / science related content. I find these topics really engaging and love learning more or just simply being entertained. My favorite YouTube will always be Technoblade. His personality completely matches my vibe and I love his witty and sarcastic way of humor. I also adore the way he narrates stories and the way he has changed Minecraft and even YouTube. When I watch math content, my favorite creator is 3Blue1Brown because of his explanation style and intuitive animations. When it comes to anime, I enjoy series that have a lot of mystery. A great example of this is my favorite anime of all time: Madoka Magica. In 12 short episodes, it creates a captivating story and leads views astray with its unexpected plot-twists. More examples of animes that I like are: Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, RE:ZERO, and Attack on Titan. Being such a big part of my life, the type of content I consume is very showing of what things I am interested in.
Music
I love listening to most genres of music, but my favorite genre by far is metal. Other genres I enjoy listening to is rock, alternative rock, and alternative pop. The band I enjoy listening to the most is System of a Down, with lead singer Serj Tankian being my favorite singer and solo artist. System of a Down's ability to go from strong instrumental and captivating lyrics to a very gentle instrumental and flowing lyrics is the main reason I enjoy listening to them. Serj Tankian takes this a step further by introducing more instrumentation to allow for a more dynamic instrumental. Another huge part of my music taste is Vocaloid. Some of my favorite artists are: Utsu-P, Inabakumori, DECO*27, YOASOBI, and Kikuo. These artists are able to generate entire lyrics to the songs they write using Vocaloids to sing for them. Their ability to create such ear-catching music while still having listeners that vary greatly from one another.
